FULL TIME: DLR Waves got off to the best possible start at home as they put Cork City to the sword with a 3-0 win at the UCD Bowl. Early goals from Joy Ralph and Katie Malone sent DLR on their way and despite some spirited play for Cork City and even having a goal disallowed it was DLR who grabbed a third as Neema Nyangasi secured the points for Graham Kelly’s side in the final minutes of the second half.

CHANCE: What a chance as Ralph feeds the ball to Doonan but her effort just flashes across the face of goal and wide.

SUB: More changes for Cork as Lauren Singleton comes on for Laura Shine

SUB: Rebecca McMahon comes on for Neema Nyangasi

GOAL: Neema Nyangasi bundles the ball over the line following a mistake from Walsh who hesitated on the line and despite some initial confusion the goal stands.

CHANCE: Chloe Atkinson has a chance from the edge of the area but it is well saved.

CHANCE: Katie Malone almost adds a second as she gets the ball in the area but her low effort is well saved by Walsh.

CHANGES: Two further changes for Cork as Shaunagh McCarthy and Ellie O'Brien come on for Erika Manfre and Kelly Leahy.

SUB: DLR makes two changes Eve O'Brien and Amber Cosgrove make way for Michelle Doonan and Catherine Cronin.

BREAK: There is a break in play as Eve O’Brien goes down injured.

OFFSIDE: An excellent move from Mangan whose cross to Laura Shine who puts the ball into the net at the near post but the offside flag goes up and it's disallowed.

CHANCE: Joy Ralph has a shot on the edge of the area that looked certain to test the goalkeeper but it was blocked and cleared.

CONCERN: Katie Malone has gone down injured as there is some concern from the DLR camp. She does look ok to continue, however.

SECOND HALF: We are back underway here at the UCD Bowl - no changes at half time for either side.

HALF TIME: DLR got off to the perfect start with two goals from Joy Ralph and Katie Malone but Cork has come back into it with some good spells of play with Eva Mangan looking most dangerous. This game is far from over.

ADDED TIME: One added minute here at the UCD Bowl.

CHANCE: Isobel Finnegans long curling effort is well saved by Walsh who has to gather on the second attempt.

CHANCE: Katie Malone has a shot from distance but Lauren Walsh is right behind it and does well to save

SUB: Two changes for Cork City as on comes Fiana Bradley and Chloe Atkinson for Aoibhin Donnelly and Alix Mendez.

CHANGES: It looks like Cork City are about to make two changes before halftime.

CHANCE: The first direct effort from Cork City and it does find it's intended target but the ball evades the Cork player and its cleared by the DLR defence.

CITY: Cork has had a very dominant spell at present but that final pass is just eluding them at the moment. Laura Shine was about to pull the trigger only for Nicole Keogh to block her attempt at the last second.

CHANCE: Eva Mangan has a chance once again as she skips past a number of DLR defenders before trying to put the ball into the area but the keeper gathers.

CHANCE: Eva Mangan gets the ball on the edge of the area after some clever Cork City play but her effort just skims over the bar.

CHANCE: First sight on goal for Cork City as Lauren Walsh breaks down the right but her cross into the area is cleared for a corner, DLR keep compact as Cork opts for the short corner routines and its cleared.

SAVE: Joy Ralph has another sight on goal after a ball was sent into the area and her low effort was well saved by Walsh who gathers on the second attempt.

CHANCE: Joy Ralph turns on a sixpence to evade Mendez's challenge and her shot is blocked down, Malones follow-up on the edge of the area goes just wide of Walsh's far post.

CORNER: Another dangerous set piece from Isobel Finnegan is sent in but no DLR player to get the vital touch.

GOAL: Isobel Finnegan's corner is met by Katie Malone at the front post and she was unmarked as she slams her header past Walsh to double DLR's lead.

WAVE AFTER WAVE: DLR have been brimming in confidence since getting that goal and are continuing to press every phase of play. They have settled much better that Cork have in the contest.

GOAL: What a strike from Joy Ralph, Ralph got possession out on the tight and spotted Hannah Walsh off her goalline and she hit a long-range effort that loops over the Cork goalkeeper.

KICK OFF: We are underway at the UCD Bowl, an early free kick for DLR is sent into the Cork area but it is easily gathered by Cork keeper Hannah Walsh.

TEAMS: The teams are out on the pitch and we should be kicking off in the next few moments.

CONDITIONS: The pitch does look a bit cut up from the rugby but it looks to be a great down at UCD for today's game.

HEAD TO HEAD: DLR waves came out on top in all three games last season, emerging with a 3-0 win at Turner’s Cross between a pair of home wins. We need to go back to late 2021 for City’s last win over DLR waves when a Laura Shine hat-trick and a super team goal finished by Becky Cassin saw City run out 4-1 winners.

TEAM NEWS: Just one change to DLR's starting eleven to face Cork City as Sarah McKevitt misses out after taking a slight knock vs Peamount & has been replaced by Amber Cosgrove who makes her first start since moving up from our U19s. Vanessa Ogbonna & Bronagh Kane come into the matchday squad.
