Match Report

Bohemians stun Peamount United

Rebecca Cooke's second-half brace saw Bohemians recover from a goal down to sting Peamount United, shaking up the WNL standings in the process.

Aine O'Gorman's 10th goal of the season set the Peas on their way to what seemed like a routine victory after 12 minutes, being teed up by Sadhbh Doyle.

Bohs' goalkeeper Rachael Kelly made important saves from Tara O'Hanlon and Jetta Berrill before the half-hour mark, before O'Hanlon's corner hit the woodwork shortly afterwards.

Considering the chances they created, the visitors should've been ahead by more.

It ultimately cost them, but not before Karen Duggan and goalscorer O'Gorman both watched efforts fly wide to start the second-half.

From there, 19-year-old midfielder Cooke turned matchwinner to stun the aggressors in what evolved into a true game of two halves.

Timeline

  • 90'

Full-time: Bohemians 2-1 Peamount United. You could argue the better, more dominant side lost here but ultimately they would only have themselves to blame after failing to convert multiple chances while 1-0 up. It cost them.

  • 81'

Cooke completes her brace and potentially the comeback for Bohs, as the 19-year-old's decisive contribution here could seal a massive three points for the hosts.

  • 80'

GOAL! 1-0 DOWN, BOHEMIANS ARE NOW 2-1 UP! More details to come...

  • 78'

First change of the game and it's one by the visitors: Lauren Kelly coming on, replacing Alannah McEvoy.

  • 70'

20 minutes left and it's still all to play for here... as it stands, Peamount would return fourth on goal difference, while Bohemians would remain eighth. Not a result either wants though! Still time for that to change.

  • 58'

I said earlier how Peamount were deservedly ahead and should've had a bigger buffer than a one-goal cushion, now it's game on again! Bronagh Kane being credited with the assist.

  • 57'

GOAL! Bohemian equaliser through Rebecca Cooke!

  • 47'

Over! Karen Duggan tries her luck but can only steer her effort over the bar.. still 1-0 but the Peas pressing to double their cushion and rightly so, given their chance creation.

  • 46'

Back underway to start the second-half here, and it appears no half-time alterations by either side so far.

  • 45'

Treaty 0-0 Sligo it finished in one of the day's two 5pm KOs, meaning the WNL's bottom side finally have their first point of the season after 12 matches. League leaders Shelbourne were unsurprisingly 4-0 winners away at second bottom Cork in the other 5pm clash.

  • 45'

Half-time: Bohemian 0-1 Peamount United -- The visitors are full value for their lead, but Bohs will be glad to go into the interval with a makeable deficit to overturn come the second-half. Whether they'll manage to do so, is another thing.

  • 34'

Post! Tara O'Hanlon's corner, floated in, hit the woodwork. Still 1-0 but Peamount could easily have a three-goal cushion before half-time by now.

  • 29'

Official word from Bohemian's Twitter account reads: An unforeseen power supply issue at Dalymount Park has prevented #LOITV from providing a stream for this evening’s WNL game between Bohemians and Peamount. Sincere apologies to all for the inconvenience."

  • 25'

Another stop! This time Kelly denies Jetta Berrill from close-range, pushing it wide and out to partial safety. Bohs clear the resulting corner, it feels like they'll be under sustained pressure if this continues.

  • 18'

Save! Tara O’Hanlon forces Rachael Kelly into a great save, keeping the deficit at one for Bohemian...

  • 14'

That strike also means Aine is now tied with Athlone Town's Emily Corbet for most WNL goals this term, albeit with a slightly higher minutes-per-game ratio before their match with Wexford Youths kicking off at 6.30pm tonight.

  • 13'

I still have no pictures, but have been informed via the club's social media that Sadhbh Doyle threaded her through on-goal. 1-0 to Peamount and by all accounts, they seem to deserve their slender advantage.

  • 12'

Goal! The visitors break the deadlock early, through Aine O'Gorman's 10th goal of the season!

  • 3'

In the meantime, an important note as far as the standings are concerned. Galway's 1-0 away win over DLR Waves earlier means they have, at least briefly, leapfrogged Peamount into fourth place. Will they remain there come end of play today?

  • 1'

The match has now kicked off, however my loitv.ie stream pictures are coming up with an error. Hopefully soon, this problem will be rectified.

  • As outlined in my preview, Peamount will have to adapt in attack without the presence of key forward Stephanie Roche, after being sent off for needlessly losing her composure during last week's 3-3 draw at Wexford Youths.

  • Team news is finally upon us, check the line-ups tab to see how both sides will start tonight's fixture.

  • Less than an hour until kick-off now, time for some pre-match reading? Take a look at my match preview, if you haven't already - there will be a notable absence for the visitors through suspension...

  • Good evening everyone and welcome to tonight's live play-by-play commentary as Bohemian host Peamount United in the WNL. My name's Mosope Ominiyi, I'll take you through the evening's action with kick-off scheduled for 6pm.
