A game that very much lived up to the pre match hype saw Peamount leading at the break 3-0 goals coming from Erin McLaughlin, Lauren Kelly and Aine O’Gorman.

This inspired a brilliant second half from DLR Waves who got forward and nearly completed a brilliant comeback, subs Mia Dodd and Oleta Griffin finding the back of the net and DLRs fightback fell just short.

Peamount set a high pace and intensity in this contest right from kick off. 

Pressurising the DLR Waves players at every opportunity and forcing them into errors early on. 

Stephanie Roche had an effort go just wide after six minutes but the Peas didn't have long to wait for the opener. A corner on their left hand side was taken quickly and lobbed into the box and it seemed as though Erin McLaughlin was claiming the goal although it took a deflection to go into the back of the net. 

The home side had their second just two minutes later Lauren Kelly getting free inside the DLR Waves box and she coolly slotted home into the bottom corner Peamount 2-0 up after 10 minutes on the clock. 

DLR Waves struggled to deal with the home side's movement and passing ability and struggled to make chances of their own. There were 26 minutes gone on the clock when the away side registered their first shot on goal. 

Peamount made it 3-0 in the 34th minute as Stephanie Roche latched on to a loose ball and drove into the area, picking out Aine O’Gorman who finished from close range. 

The top of the table side went in at the break 3-0 and worthy of their lead. 

The Waves came out the second half with something to prove and they brought the game to the peas. 

Creating more half chances and a free in a dangerous area saw them pressing for their first goal. 

Their first goal eventually came from Substitute Mia Dodd who looped the ball over the head of Niamh Reid Burke from way outside the box.  

The away side were now on the front foot pushing Peamount back at every opportunity. 

Graham Kellys substitutions were to be commended as second half sub Oleta Griffin found the back of the net much like Mia Dodd lobbing the keeper from outside the box 77 minutes gone. 

DLR kept pushing forward late on but failed to find a late equaliser and Peamount continued their winning ways and extended their lead at top of the league.
