Roundup: AIL – Men’s Division 1B

Highfield remain unbeaten at the top of Division 1B of the Energia All-Ireland league after their 26-19 win over bottom side Banbridge.  

Old Wesley is hot on Highfield’s heels, trailing the league leaders by four points after their 34-20 victory over Old Belvedere.

City of Armagh 20-14 Malone, Palace Grounds:

The home side secured a narrow victory, thanks to the Player of the Round Kyle Faloon’s 15 points and a further try from Neil Faloon.

City of Armagh move up to fourth with 22 points, whilst Malone are in eighth on 11 points.

Banbridge 19-26 Highfield, Rifle Park:

It’s now seven wins from seven for Highfield after their victory over basement side Banbridge, courtesy of tries from Ben Murphy, Sam Burns and a brace from Edward Earle.

Highfield are flying with 31 points, whilst Banbridge remain winless in 10th with four points.

Old Belvedere 20-34 Old Wesley, Ollie Campbell Park:

Title chasing Old Wesley narrowed the gap from them and top spot to two points courtesy of scores from Reuben Pim, Josh Pim, David Poff, Charlie O Regan, and a brace from Ben Murphy.

Old Belvedere are in seventh on 11 points, whilst Old Wesley are second with 27 points.

Shannon 29-35 Naas, Thomond Park:

Sleeping giant Shannon fell to a narrow defeat at home to Naas, with full back Peter Osborne scoring 20 points.

Shannon is down to fifth with 17 points, whilst Naas are one place below also on 17 points.

St Mary’s College 45-26 Navan, Templeville Road:

In a high-scoring affair, the home side pulled away to a thrashing of Navan courtesy of tries from Richard Halpin, Michael McCormack, Myles Carey, Ruairi Shields and a brace by Ronan Watters.

St Mary’s College are up to third with 25 points, whilst Navan are ninth with 11 points.
