Preview: AIL – Men’s Division 1A

Lansdowne and Terenure College is one of the ties of the round, as second faces third in a crucial clash in the Energia All-Ireland Division 1A on Saturday afternoon.

Clontarf remain in red hot form, winning 15 of their 16 games this season and play host to Ballynahinch at Castle Avenue. 

Lansdowne vs Terenure College, Aviva Stadium

Lansdowne welcome Terenure College to Aviva Stadium in a crucial clash at the top of Division 1A.

Terenure College head into this game in great form, after winning 11 of their last 12 matches. The visitors avenged the defeat to Clontarf last weekend, after knocking off Young Munster at Lakelands.

As for Lansdowne, they head into the game after a mixed run in recent weeks. The hosts have lost two of their last three matches, and have seen the lead over third place Terenure College reduced to just two points.

Clontarf vs Ballynahinch, Castle Avenue

League leaders Clontarf will look for their 16th win of the season as they face Ballynahinch at Castle Avenue.

The runaway league leaders struggled in the reverse fixture this season, as they claimed a slender 3-13 win at Ballymacarn Park in week two.

Ballynahinch will have their work cut out this weekend as Clontarf enter the weekend having not tasted defeated since 5th November at home to Lansdowne.

Young Munster vs Cork Constitution, Tom Clifford Park

Fifth meets fourth as Young Munster host Cork Constitution at Tom Clifford Park.

The two teams are separated by just two points in the table, and both are looking for a quick return to winning ways after defeats last weekend. 

Young Munster have experience mixed fortunes since the season resumed in January, winning three games and losing four.

UCC vs Garryowen, The Mardyke

UCC welcome Garryowen to The Mardyke in Division 1A. 

Both teams are looking to return to winning ways this weekend, after Garryowen lost a tight game away at UCD and UCC were hammered at Lansdowne.

Dublin University vs UCD, College Park

Seventh placed UCD head to College Park to take on Dublin University.

Dublin University have endured a mixed season so far, winning nine and losing seven. Whilst UCD find themselves with just six wins, but find themselves in amidst a winning run after beating Ballynahinch, UCC and Garryowen in the last three rounds.
