Fixtures released for 2023 Tiktok Women’s Six Nations

Irish Rugby have announced the fixture details for the 2023 TikTok Women’s Six Nations, as Ireland open their campaign with a trip to Wales.

The opening round will take place on March 25th, before Greg McWilliams’ side host France a week later and travel to Italy for Round 3. The final period of the tournament sees Ireland host 2022 Grand Slam winners England before visiting Scotland in the last round.

Ireland will be eager for a better tournament despite finishing off strongly earlier this year. They’ve shown promising signs as of late under McWilliams with another of young players breaking through, and now the third highest ranked team worldwide in the Six Nations, they’ll be looking on with confidence.

Six Nations CEO Ben Morel: “The 2022 TikTok Women’s Six Nations was a landmark moment for the Championship and for Women’s rugby as a whole. We look forward to building on this year’s successes, growing and engaging new audiences with the continued strong commitment from our broadcast partners and outstanding commercial partners all providing fantastic platforms to further drive women’s rugby and celebrate its game changing heroes.”

The added commercialisation expected in 2023 has been a big talking point alongside the fixture announcement. According to the press release from Irish Rugby, the Tiktok partnership saw huge growth in 2022, with the platform bringing over 174 million video views to the tournament.

Tiktok was the first ever partner for the competition and sets it up for increased engagement again next year, with a multitude of broadcast coverage. Stadium information is yet to be released but the team will most likely play at the RDS or Kingspan Stadium.

Ireland must first think about their second test with Japan which takes place this Saturday at 11am Irish time in Chichibunomiya. Team news is set to be released tomorrow.
