With Munster coming into the game off the back of a loss against Glasgow, it was evident there was a lot to play for on the pitch, with the game being dominated by Munster from the start.

An early knock on from Healy was followed by a series of phases which saw Edinburgh give away their first penalty of many, resulting in three points from Healy.

A try at the ten minute mark from Whcherly meant Munster drew an early lead, which was added to by a penalty and conversion.

A series of bad handling errors from Edinburgh meant they remained in defence from an early stage.

It took the guts of half an hour for Edinburgh to settle in with the first try over the line by Joya’s speed on the wing.

However with Farrell making up ground and quick hands from O’Donoghue, Munster proved strong attackers, easily opening up space on the wing for Zebo to get a try in, ending the first half at 20-10 to Munster.

Eight early penalties from Edinburgh gave Munster some easy ground but a penalty against the red jersey and some bad handling from the backline meant Edinburgh gained confidence and held Munster off until Zebo made his second try with just 20 minutes to go.

Edinburgh won a linout inside Munster’s 22, bringing the game in closer, getting a try from Pyrgos, who was straight of the bench for Vellacrot.

However it was as you were for Zebo who’ll be happy with a hattrick third try. Following Healy’s steady foot despite the weather Munster claimed a hard won victory at 34-20.
