Action at both ends of the 2A table this weekend make this another very competitive division, Old Crescent meet Banbridge in a big promotion play-off battle, while at the foot Navan and Malone face each other in a relegation eight pointer. 

Despite their second loss of the season occurring in dramatic fashion at the weekend, Nenagh now have a ten point lead at the summit. Banbridge who defeated the Tipp side moved to fourth as UL Bohemian dropped to sixth with defeat as Old Crescent also kept their promotion hopes alive. Greystones at the foot of the table strengthened their hopes of safety.

Some incredible showdowns in 2A this weekend, from top four showdowns to relegation battles, it is sure to be another dramatic weekend of action.

Nenagh produced a statement win to reignite their title push after defeat the previous weekend, Banbridge and Old Crescent aided their promotion push, while Navan moved off the bottom of the table following a draw with Cashel.

2A will have action concerning all elements of the standings this weekend, Old Crescent v Greystones and Navan v Cashel are just two of a host of games concerning matters at both ends of this highly competitive Division.

Nenagh returned to winning ways to keep high flying Cashel five behind in the race for the title, UL Bohemian secured a strong win for their hopes at promotion while at the foot of the table Malone jumped off bottom with a win over Banbridge.

After a dramatic opening weekend to 2024 in 2A, this weekend promises to be nothing short of the same, the title, promotion and relegation on the minds across the division this weekend. 

Nenagh’s unbeaten run came to an end against Cashel at the weekend, Old Crescent sit just one point off the promotion places, while Greystones moved out of the relegation zone minefield with a win.

Nenagh and Cashel will once again front the billing from 2A this weekend, plenty of other ties in the Division could make the standings look rather different come Saturday evening.

Nenagh moved eight clear at the summit of 2A following their win in the Tipperary derby, Banbridge and Old Crescent also tasted success in provincial derbies to move closer to the top four. Ballymena also won a provincial derby at the weekend, leaving the relegation zone as a result.
