AIL Roundup: Division 1B Week 9 Refixed

Just the one game was allowed go ahead in 1B, with the postponement allowing Old Belvedere to occupy fourth spot until after Christmas at least, with Highfield just behind them in the league table.

UCC 19-61 Old Belvedere, Musgrave Park

Old Belvedere recorded back to back wins in the league after storming UCC in Musgrave Park as the tie was switched to the second home of Munster Rugby, with a later kick off time.

Belvo were dominant from the half and raced into a 28-0 lead to get the bonus point secured before the break, as UCC were really up against it, they would manage to get two tries to reduce the arrears with Aiden Brien getting the second, but a Belvedere try in between had them ahead 35-12 at the interval.

Belvo added another try shortly after the restart, before Peter Hyland powered over to make it 42-19. UCC looked strong early on in the league but haven’t won a game since round 4, the remainder of the half was all Belvedere on the scoring front, as they leave Leeside in the top four.
