It’s a case of as you were in the All Ireland Division 1A with the two top sides Clontarf and Cork Constitution victorious while Shannon remain adrift in the relegation battle.
Clontarf 24-14 Ballynahinch, Castle Avenue
The visitors took the lead early on as Aaron Cairns collected a cross field kick from Greg Huntley, who converted the opening try.
With the rain lashing down at Castle Avenue, Dylan Donnellan drove over next to the posts for Clontarf’s first score.
Captain Adrian D’Arcy profited from great hands to put the home side ahead before a yellow card for Tony Ryan for an infringement at a line out.
JJ O’Dea joined him in the cooler for a deliberate knock on before Ballynahinch went back in front through Aaron Cairns being the beneficiary of another precise Huntley cross field kick.
However, Clontarf were awarded a penalty try as Ballynahinch collapsed a maul and Kyle McCall was shown yellow.
Donnellan put the icing on the cake with a late score that keeps Clontarf top by one point while Ballynahinch lie in fifth.
Cork Constitution 36-19 Shannon, Temple Hill
Back to back tries by Luke Masters and Billy Scannell put the home side ahead before Niall Kenneally scored their third unanswered try on the half hour mark.
Their lead was extended in the second half through Harry O’Riordan and Daniel Hurley tries who were converted by Aidan Moynihan.
Shannon eventually hit back through Daniel Okeke’s try that was converted by Michael Cooke.
But Moynihan grabbed his second before two late consolation tries from Kelvin Brown and Cian O’Halloran.
Cork Constitution lie in third while Shannon remain in ninth, four points off safety.
Dublin University 10-32 Lansdowne, College Park
Despite the hosts making a promising start, Lansdowne’s potent attack rallied to score 25 unanswered points in the second half for a vital win.
Dublin University fall to seventh seven points off the drop zone while Lansdowne move up to sixth to all but secure their place in Division 1A for next season.
Terenure College 52-0 Garryowen, Lakelands
Tries from Alan Bennie, Craig Adams, Jordan Coghlan, La Grue, Mick Melia, Levi and James Thornton sealed an almighty impressive victory for the hosts.
Terenure College are just one point behind league leaders Clontarf, while already relegated Garryowen’s miserable season continues.
Young Munster 23-17 UCD, Tom Clifford Park
UCD took an early lead before Conor Hayes bit back with a penalty for the hosts and Ronan O’Sullivan scored a try.
George Jacobs scored Young Munster’s second maul try and Hayes hit a second three-pointer.
Young Munster remain in fourth while UCD are in eighth.
