Preview: Lidl NFL Div 2 Week 7

A place in the Division 2 final against Armagh is at stake on Sunday with Tipperary and Laois vying for that spot. Down at the bottom Roscommon are in the relegation play-off. Monaghan, Westmeath and Tyrone will all want wins to secure their place in the division for next year.

Tipperary v Armagh, Sun Mar 26th, Fethard Town Park, 1pm

Armagh have already booked their place in the Division 2 Final. A win or a draw for Tipperary would see them advance to play the Orchard County in the final.

Armagh have been impressive in the league with six wins from six. Last weekend they had a comprehensive win over Westmeath.

Tipperary had an eleven point win over Tyrone last weekend. They have only lost one game this campaign; that was to Laois who are also vying for a final spot.

Tyrone v Cavan, Sun Mar 26th, Newtownstewart, 2pm

Tyrone know in order to avoid a relegation play-off they have to beat Cavan. If they draw or lose then they’ll be looking at other games.

Last weekend fell to a heavy defeat to Tipperary. They’ve won two games so far and will be hoping to pick up a third against their Ulster rivals on Sunday.

Cavan had ground out three narrow wins in a row but were beaten by Laois last weekend. They’ll hope to get back to winning ways on Sunday.

Laois v Roscommon, Sun Mar 26th, Crettyard GAA Club, 2pm

Laois know a win for them against Roscommon and if Armagh beat Tipperary they’ll be in the Division 2 final.

The O’Moore County had a good win against Cavan last weekend. It was a good way to bounce back after losing to Armagh in their previous game.

Roscommon are bottom of the table and in a relegation play-off. They picked up their first point of the campaign last weekend against Monaghan. They’ll want a good performance ahead of their play-off game.

Westmeath v Monaghan, Sun Mar 26th, St. Loman’s, 2pm

A huge game for both sides at the bottom end of the table. A draw or a win for Westmeath and they’ll secure their Division 2 status for next year. A defeat and they’ll be in the relegation play-off against their neighbours Roscommon.

Looking at Monaghan and a win will secure their place in Division 2 for next year. Last weekend they were held to a draw by Roscommon. They’ve won just one game so far this campaign.

Westmeath were comprehensively beaten by leaders Armagh last weekend. They’ll hope to pick up their third win on Sunday.
