Kildare finished the league with another win; their seventh in seven games. This time they defeated Westmeath by seven points in Newbridge. Cavan were relegated to Division 3 after they lost to Tyrone and Monaghan had a fine win over already relegated Laois.

Former Mayo footballer Diane O’Hora comes up against her former manager Frank Browne when Kildare take on Westmeath in Newbridge. Kildare are hoping to extend their unbeaten run while the Lake County will hope to cause an upset.

Laois suffered relegation to Division 3 when they were defeated by Westmeath. The result consolidated Westmeath’s place in Division 2 for next year.

The big game of the weekend is the meeting of the top 2 in Beragh. Kildare already claimed promotion to Division 1 and they travel to play second place Tyrone.

Kildare secured back to back promotions when they had a fine win over Laois in Manguard Park. It’s an amazing achievement for Diane O’Hora’s side with still two games remaining in Division 2.

Big games in Division 2 this weekend. In Ballybofey, Donegal, who are currently in 3rd place, take on 2nd place Tyrone. Both sides will have their sights set on a place in the Division 2 Final so all points are crucial.

Kildare were made to work hard for their fourth win of the campaign over Tipperary. The home side cut the gap to one in stoppage time and missed a free to give them a well earned draw. Monaghan picked up their first point of the campaign with a draw at home to Donegal. Eabha Sherry with 1-01 late on for the Farney County.

Kildare currently sit top of the table with three wins from three. They travel to take on Tipperary on Sunday. The Premier County are just three points behind the Lilywhites and would like to halt their 100% start to the season.
