Martin McHugh, SFC Semi Finals and LGFA Senior B Final – Leitrim GAA Podcast

This evening’s Leitrim GAA podcast will focus on the Leitrim gaelic games action over the weekend with Mohill and St. Mary’s securing their passage to the Senior decider and Kiltubrid landing the first adult championship title of the year.

Veteran goalkeeper Martin McHugh will be on the show to look back at the weekend’s action talk about his journey from a rural farming background in Aughnasheelin to 1994 Senior Connacht Championship glory, beating cancer twice and now sharing his story in a new book, ‘Born to Save‘.

On the field St. Mary’s Kiltoghert saw off Fenagh St. Caillins in their clash but only just. It took a historic first ever Leitrim club championship penalty shootout to seperate the two teams who were deadlocked after extra time. We hear from Keith Beirne and Eamonn O’Hara after Mohill’s victory.

We’ll also hear from the first adult championship winners of the season after Kiltubrid managed to hold on to a late Ballinamore Sean O’Heslins comeback to win the Senior B Ladies Football decider by a single point. Player of the match Michelle Guckian, captain Sinead Tighe and manager Steve Sheeran share their thoughts after a bruising encounter.
