Westmeath and Limerick made it two wins from two in the second weekend of Division 3 with Longford and Louth picking up their first points when they drew in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.

Antrim 0-11 Limerick 2-9

Just like in their game against Longford, Limerick made a perfect start to their game against Antrim and were seven points up inside the opening eight minutes. Cian Sheehan and Peter Nash with goals for the Treaty County.

Antrim did reply with points but it was Limerick who were ahead by six at the break - 2-5 to 0-5. The Saffrons upped their performance in the second half and four points from Ryan Murray saw them cut the gap to just two points in the 60th minute.

Points from Josh Ryan (free) and Nash were much needed points for Limerick. Antrim finished the game with late points from Ruairi McGann and Murray as they fell to a four point defeat.

Laois 0-11 Westmeath 2-11

Conditions played their part in this game with Westmeath putting in a strong second half performance to pick up their second win of the campaign. They scored their first goal after nine minutes when Luke Loughlin fisted to the net.

Laois overcame that goal and aided with a strong breeze drew level. The lead changed in favour of Westmeath before half-time but points from Eoin Lowry (two) and Danny Bolger (free) gave Laois a slender lead at the break - 0-6 to 1-2.

Conor McCormack drew Westmeath level in the early stages of the second half. In the final quarter Westmeath were ahead by three and try as they might Laois couldn’t cut the gap. Kieran Martin sealed the win for the Lake County with a goal at the end.

Longford 0-9 Louth 1-6

A free from Sam Mulroy with virtually the last kick of the game earned Louth a share of the spoils at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park. Longford thought they had won the game when Des Reynolds pointed in the 68th minute but in the eighth minute of stoppage time Mulroy earned the Wee County a draw.

Daniel Reynolds was black carded before the Louth equaliser and Longford were unhappy with three extra minutes of stoppage time were played when five was announced. Louth had made the perfect start to the game with a goal from Mulroy in the eighth minute and they were in front by two at the break - 1-3 to 0-4.

Longford took the lead for the first time in the 60th minute when Darren Gallagher pointed over a free. Reynolds restored the lead after Mulroy had levelled matters in the 63rd minute and it was left to Mulroy right at the death to claim a point for Louth.

Wicklow 1-10 Fermanagh 2-7

Oisin McGraynor’s free earned Wicklow a draw against Fermanagh in Aughrim, despite them being behind by eight points at the break after the Erne County made a fine start to the game. After both losing their opening games they now have points on the board.

Wicklow started well before Fermanagh used the wind to their advantage. Conal Jones got the Erne County’s first goal and that was followed up by a goal from Sean Quigley to extend the lead to eight points.

Fermanagh were to add just three points to their tally in the second half as Wicklow staged a remarkable comeback. Dean Healy scored a goal to cut the deficit to two points. Andy Maher levelled for Wicklow. Gary McKenna thought he’d won the game for Fermanagh but McGraynor’s free gave Wicklow a share of the spoils.
