D2 – Allianz Football League – Galway beat Offaly

Galway continued their winning ways in a very high scoring competitive fixture on a glorious day in Salthill.

Following a 2-17 to 3-10 win over Offaly, Galway now join Derry being the only sides to take full points from their first four outings.

The Tribesmen started the game well with Tierney with the opening two points followed by a goal from a very much in form and seemingly back to his best Damien Comer, Comer finished the day with 1-3.

Offaly soon got to grips with the pace of the match and soon scored 1-1 of their own.

Galway went in at half time up 1-8 to 1-6 Offaly still in sight.

The home side started the second half excellently outscoring their opponents 1-6 to 1-1 in the opening 20 minutes of the second half the score now 2-14 to 2-7.

After this point Paraic Joyce made some changes replacing big names such as Shane Walsh and an impressive Seán Kelly as he made full use of his bench.

John Maughans side finished the game well scoring 1-3 in the final 10 minutes. They will have to bring this form into the remaining fixtures if they are to survive the drop back down to Division 3.
