New Leitrim Football Manager Andy Moran joins Breifne Earley for a deep dive into his first few weeks in the job, launching his book ‘Andy’ and what he hopes to bring to Leitrim from the lessons he’s learned in his 17 seasons in the green and red of Mayo.

He discusses how in the first leg of their 2006 journey to the All Ireland final it almost ended in a partisan Pairc Sean MacDiarmada but for the crossbar denying Declan Maxwell with the last attack of the game allowing Mayo get out of Carrick with only a single point to spare.
He discusses both the similarities between his appointment and the arrival of his mentor, coach and teacher John O’Mahony to Leitrim three decades ago and the different circumstances he finds compared to the Connacht Championship challengers Johno inherited in the early 90’s.
He details how the challenge offered by Leitrim for 2022 appealed to him as a novice manager and how, despite the rumours to the contrary, he only had eyes for the Leitrim job on the counsel of former Leitrim managers O’Mahony and Mickey Moran.
