Sarah McKevitt: WNL Podcast Episode 12

This week on the podcast Cork City’s new arrival Sarah McKevitt joins Stephanie Roche and Breifne Earley to chat about getting her hands dirty and testing her green fingers in the garden as she takes part in SSE Airtricity’s Biodiversity challenge.

Stephanie (0:40) starts the show with a look back at the weekend’s action including her Peamount sides close victory over Cork City, DLR’s great 1-0 win against Athlone Town, Boh’s heavy defeat to Wexford Youths and Shel’s demolition of Galway WFC.

New recruit on Leeside, Sarah McKevitt (8:27) chats about her move from Peamount to Cork City in a bid to get more game time. She talks about the opportunities and the prospect of finding herself featuring week in and week out in Turner’s Cross.

She discusses the life changes which saw her based at home in Thurles and the practicalities of playing in the Women’s National League and her instant reaction to the phonecall from Ronan Collins of Cork. She chats about her first strike of the season last week against Wexford and the ambitions for the season ahead.

Finally Stephanie takes a look at the weekend’s fixture list (26:03) and outlines how she feels the action will develop over the weekend. Her picks for the weekend are her own former side Galway WFC facing a big clash with DLR Waves while table toppers Shels travel to Peamount on Saturday evening.
