Jetta Berrill: WNL Podcast Episode 15

After an extended break between episodes we’re back with an episode of the Women’s National League podcast with Irish International Jetta Berrill of DLR Waves.

Unfortunately our busy schedules wreaked havoc on this weeks plans when a BBC interview caused Stephanie to be unavailable for our recording this week but we will be back with us next week.

Breifne catches up with one of the recent returnees to the league Jetta Berrill who finds herself back at Belfield as the former Peamount and UCD Waves players has been back in blue since the completion of her veterinary studies in Hungary at the end of the academic year.

She chats about the experience of coming back into the league and the ambitions of the squad which has impressed in their run to fourth place in the league table with a few games in hand to maybe close the gap to the top three in the league.

Given the major news of pay parity for international players this week, Jetta discusses her experience as a member of that infamous Irish International squad who went on strike to kick start the discussion which has ultimately led to this announcement for the women’s game this week.

She also discusses her own history with some losing final appearances in the FAI Women’s Cup and her DLR Waves side’s ambition of challenging for an elusive cup win this season.

Breifne takes a look back at the league results last weekend and previews the upcoming Cup Quarter Finals due to be decided this weekend.
